Potty Training Take 2

Dear Michela,

Last week you started refusing to wear a diaper.  In fact we didn't go to our Thursday morning playdate because you refused to wear anything but your birthday suit until 11am!  At 11am I was able to wrestle you into a diaper.  Friday morning you didn't want to wear a diaper either but since we were headed to Ventura for the weekend you were forced to wear one.

With that said, yesterday we started the potty training process.  In the morning we said "bye bye" to your diapers as we packed them up and shipped them to Penelope's room.  I then showed you where your big girl undies are and we were ready!  You had 4 successes in the potty and 4 accidents.  Not to shabby for your first day without diapers!  After your 3rd accident I decided to roll up the family room rug and put it in the garage.  You only had one accident on the rug but I would rather wipe up the hardwood floor than clean up the rug.  I'll bring it back in next week. :)

You have training pants and we call them your night time big girl undies.  You can pull them up and down like regular underwear but they snap open in case you have an accident.  The outer layer is made out of PUL fabric so if you have an accident at night your bed will stay dry.  The inside fabric is flannel with a bicycle pattern.  When you wear them I encourage you to keep the bicycles dry.  You are proud to wear both your big girl undies and your night time big girl undies.

Today is day two of your potty training and you have already improved!  It's only 1pm and you have already had 5 successes and 3 accidents.  One of the accidents was a poop accident and another accident was a start to pee, stop, rush to potty to finish accident.  Well, I rushed you to the potty but but you stopped at the beginning of the pee all by yourself!  That's not easy to do!  I am so proud!

Keep up the good work big girl!  You should be proud of yourself!
