Day Do
Dear Colin,
For a while your default word has been, "Pea" (please). If you wanted something but didn't know what to say, you said, "pea" and pointed. Such a polite young man.
Recently, you learned the phrase, "day do" (thank you). I can't say I love it enough. You are so cute with your "pea" and "day do". You have been heavily reinforced for saying thank you simply because we all think you're adorable - sisters included.
Yesterday, while dropping Michela off at preschool, you helped another student build a block tower. He was building and you were giving him blocks to use. When ever you handed him a block you said, "day do". As if he was doing you a favor for using the block. He didn't understand what you were saying but you didn't care. You just loved using your new phrase. :)
With all my love,
Mommy

Fabric Markers
Dear Quillinan Trio,
This afternoon we had some fun with fabric markers. I couldn't find a shirt small enough for Colin at Michael's so we went with a hat. I found a project on Pinterest where you use sharpie markers, rubbing alcohol, and water. The colors are supposed to blend when you spray with alcohol and water to make a tie dye looking design. I couldn't find sharpies anywhere (until we were ready to check out of course) so we went with fabric markers and skipped the alcohol and water. It was fun and you guys love your shirts and hat. As you can see from the pictures, I had you take your shirts off before our project. No unintentional (or intentional) coloring on other clothing thank you very much!
Love you three artists,
Mommy

Rehearsal
Dear Colin,
Last weekend you started taking the little people toys and house and having them go "pee pee" in the pot. You lifted the lid, sat them down, said "pee pee," then flushed. So we pulled out the little potty for you. We are not potty training you yet; it's more like a rehearsal. As of now, you like the pot. You see the pot and say, "pee pee" then sit down fully clothed.
Daddy says that he gives you 5 months left of diapers before they're gone. He's joking of course. We just enjoy seeing you excited about the pot.
