Talking
Dear Michela,
You are one talkative little girl. I think your voice is the sweetest sound. I love listening to you talk about your books and adventures. You have learned that when you move your tongue around you can make different sounds. It's so fun to watch you discover new things. Today you started making popping sounds with your mouth that remind me of the movie, The Gods Must Be Crazy. Of course you will probably never see that movie because it was old when I watched it. It is a pretty silly movie and your popping made me think of it.
Besides talking, you're dancing more. You like to wave your arms around while you dance unless you're standing. When you're standing you bend your knees and bounce up and down. I love it. You will stop doing what ever it is you're doing to dance.
I love you sweet Michela. Keep growing strong.
Love,
Mommy
For your viewing pleasure, a video of you talking.

Dear Michela,
We have another first. Your first cold. Last week you, Daddy, and I came down with a small cold. I think Daddy took the brunt of it though. You and I just had runny noses. Your nose is still running but that doesn't stop you from crawling and standing up! I elevated your crib mattress and put a humidifier in your room and that seems to help with the congestion while you sleep.
Peek-a-boo is a new fun game you like to play! You like to play it at the table when you're waiting for Daddy and I to finish our dinner. Yesterday you played peek-a-boo using your number cards! You're so cute! I have tried to get it on video but when ever you see the camera you stop playing! I'll get you on video some day.
I love you Michela Grace!

"I'm flattered!"
I love it when you sit on your knees and play!
Mommy's little bumble bee!
Can't get any cuter than that!
Are you holding back laughter?
Where's Meeka?

Busted!
Baby Proofing
Look what Nana and Papi brought you - Converse shoes!
Dear Michela,
You are now standing up like a champ. There are times you're brave enough to let go while standing too! Last week you were able to stand up in the pack n play or using the side table. Now you can use anything to pull yourself up!
You're also crawling like a champ! Friday we had a play date with some other mommies in the area and you took off. There was an 11 month old girl (Lila) crawling around and you decided it would be fun to follow. There are times when you feel that army crawling is the best method but then there are times you crawl on your hands and knees. I'm so proud of you Michela!
Baby proofing has begun. We haven't put locks on the drawers and cabinets yet but that time is coming soon. I have moved glass and valuables up and took the blades out of my food processor bowls. The fire place tools are now behind the fire place screen and the CD's that were sitting on top of the computer are now out of reach. Of course I wouldn't have known what to move if you hadn't shown me. I have made sure that you have plenty of toys (often thrown all over the living room floor) and gave you plastic bowls and wooden spoons to throw around in the kitchen. Now if you pull something off the shelf that isn't dangerous or breakable you can have fun! I'm glad you're exploring the world. I just want to make it at least some what safe for you!
I love you baby girl!

Mommy

You are too funny Michela!
Dear Michela,
You are too funny! You are a master at army crawling these days. Today while I was doing dishes you managed to army crawl into the kitchen and started messing around with my appliances. I have a shelf / counter unit on one wall of the kitchen. This is where I store my appliances because we don't have cabinet space for them. You started reaching for the bowl to my food processor (the blade is safely kept in a drawer) and knocked it off the shelf. It made a loud noise as it hit the floor (didn't fall very far) and it scared you. You let out a cry and started backing away! You backed yourself out of the kitchen and into the dining room! Once you were in the dining room you sat up and started clapping! hehe. You are too funny!
Another piece of evidence that proves how funny you are; a video of you eating an orange. You are too funny!
I love you funny girl!

Growing Up
Dear Michela,
Monday afternoon you independently went from a sitting position to a standing position in your pack n' play! The first time you did it my back was turned so I didn't see how you did it. Yesterday I watched you. You sit facing the side of the pack n' play and bounce. While bouncing you reach for the top of the siding. Once you get a hold of the side you pull yourself up! Way to go baby girl! Once you're standing you like to chew on the side of the pack n' play. You're pretty cute!
Last night was the first time you ate exactly what mommy and daddy ate for dinner! We had sweet potato risotto and peas. It was yummy! I thought it was fun that we all ate the same thing. You're growing up and I love that I get to see all of your firsts.
With all my love,
Mommy
