Dear Quillinan Trio,
Since we jumped right over winter and headed straight to summer we decided to head to the beach on Papi's birthday.
This wasn't Michela's first trip but it was her first time playing in the water. We all had a blast. Michela, you would scream and laugh when ever a "wave" came. I put wave in quotations because it was the end of the wave that merely covers your feet. There was a high surf advisory that day so we stayed out of the real waves. You wanted to be in the water the whole time we were there. We tried to get you to build a sandcastle with Penelope but after a minute you decided the ocean was calling for you.
Penelope, you loved the water just as much as Michela. But when the "wave" caught up to you it made you fall down. The current wasn't strong, you just got dizzy and lost your balance. Daddy was a nice guy and held you steady. I let you fall. Sorry (not really). After you fell the first time you thought it was great. From that point on instead of getting scared, you embraced the wave and jumped down to your knees. Michela joined in the fun too. After a while you got cold and I was able to get you to build a sandcastle. After your castle was complete, you straddled it and peed on it. I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go.
Colin, you weren't sure of the cold water so we hung out in the beach tent most of the time. You enjoyed chewing on toys and watching your sisters run around. You did get to sit in the sand for a while and discover how sand feels between your fingers and in your mouth.
We had a great time an will head to the beach again and again.
With all my love,
Mommy
